Hi! So I've recently noticed that there are a lot of admins who have used coding that completely erases the top and bottom part of their information. Whilst it looks really nice, I can't see their idle times anymore. Whenever there is a problem in chat, I'm not sure which admin to contact due to this (which usually ends up with me whispering multiples when one does not reply within a couple of minutes). The bottom line is, should it be mandatory for staff to have their idle times available - and if not, why? Thanks!

No it shouldn't be mandatory. Also, users would have to rid of the code as well. If you're unsure of which admin to contact, just whisper them. If you don't recieve a reply, then just contact another.

Users wouldn't have to get rid of the code though, it has nothing to do with them? I just believe Admins should have it showing, it is more professional. I also find it difficult asking a member of ART questions that only ART members usually have the answers to, because they do not have the rank in their sniff.
I have already been following the advice you've given me and I will continue to do so, I thought it'd be interesting to bring it up anyways. :)
Thanks for your reply!

I think its important for users to be able to see the admins idle times, because knowing how long an admin has been idle is important with knowing who to contact if something comes up. (Just like you stated). I don't even think it should be showing because its more professional, but because I think its just needed for those times when a member needs help. Its also less of a hassle being able to know the idle time in an admins sniff, compared to not knowing and having to whisper every admin until one responds, so much time is wasted that way.

I'm not sure how it's less professional. Like I stated before, most of our admins will have an away message if they're idle, or you can just whisper them.
As for the art members, they are listed in the art faq.

'Less professional' probably wasn't the best wording for what I'm trying to explain.
Lux summed it up nicely for me though!

I personally like the idea. A lot of times there's maximum of two admins online at a time. I think it would help determine who's available for help when the time comes.

The codes will be staying in the sniffs at this time; there has been more thatn two admins on lately so I'm not quite sure where you're seeing that number. As it would be next to impossible for all admins to remove the codes (since this wouldn't cover just CPI, and I say impossible since I doubt some admins would want to remove it), I have sent in a suggestion to Underdog about a middle ground.
I will be in contact should anything arise! :)

I just wanted to add on a bit to this!
Whenever an admin goes AFK/brb, they usually always put up an away message so that the room and whoever calls them will know that they're not available at that particular moment. Once they get back, they will be more than willing to handle the situation if another admin hadn't done so already. Additionally, if an admin knows they are going to be idle for a long time, they either go off duty or log off completely to avoid confusion. I personally agree with Jager that the code should be able to stay.

Another thing to add is that if there is a problem and they are the only admin online, you can easily send them the logs of the incident if they are away doing other things! I'm sure if an admin sees that they've received a message, they'd respond to the problem as soon as they can! I agree with both Jager and Lysandre on this topic

Psst, on a sniff you can right click it and click "view page source" and if you scroll down through the codes far enough you can find their idle times. Unless they have a Tumblr sniff then its impossible.

I know I'm super late to the party but this is something I fully support. Idle times are very important and should be easy to access.
